Kat Figlak Photography Dress Closet — Photographer’s dress closet for clients

I often get asked about my KFP dress closet. I purchase all of the gowns for my clients to use during their sessions with me. Buying an expensive dress to only be worn one time for photos is a lot! So I take that expense away from my clients so they don’t have to worry about it.

I provide the dresses for your maternity and newborn sessions for a few reasons:

To keep my work consistent. I want my clients to know that any of the work they have seen on my website or my social media pages can be replicated if they would like. Clients then know what to expect from their shoot. This keeps my portfolio cohesive giving all clients the confidence to know what they can expect from their photography experience with me.
My dresses are purchased from designers who make them for maternity photography. Therefore, I know the dresses will compliment my moms and the fabrics will photography beautifully. The dresses are meant to be extra long so they pool or drape on the floor giving them a train effect. These dresses come from some of the most high end and popular designers in the industry.
Why have you go out and purchase 4-5 gowns you never plan on wearing again? I would rather my moms invest in their maternity and newborn portraits to have as memories than to purchase 4-5 gowns that they never intend to wear again. Even gown rental companies are very expensive with each gown averaging $250+ to rent. Most of my moms usually wear 4-5 gowns that would have costed them over $2500 to purchase had they not had access to my client closet. So to simplify this for my clients and give them more of a luxury experience I provide all the gowns for you… one less thing you have to worry about!

At the moment I have around 130 gowns in my collection and I am adding to it all the time. My client closet has been curated over the last 10 years of my career and the gowns range from casual jersey, boho, to glam over the top gowns with tons of tulle and beading. The dresses range in both colors, sizes and styles. Most of the gowns are made by some of the industries top designers and are meant to be warn for maternity and newborn photography sessions so they fit most of my clients well.

I do not rent out my gowns, they are strictly for my clients to use. I strive to make each session one of a kind and give my clients a boutique photography experience.

I consult with each of my clients a day or two before their session to make sure we have wardrobe for both themselves and their spouse covered. I ask that my clients bring a nude colored strapless bra and under garments to insure we don’t have any mishaps.

When my clients arrive for their session they get to look at all my dresses and together we pick the right dresses for the day. I also provide all of the materials for fabric wrap and silhouette shots.
